Suspension lifted for Vietnam singers who skipped diplomatic show

Under the decision issued by the Performing Arts Department on Friday, Trong Tan and Anh Tho, who are famous for their renditions of war songs, were allowed to resume performances beginning that same day.

Last week the Vietnam National Academy of Music, where the two singers work as lecturers, gave them one-year warnings, meaning that they will not be eligible for salary raises, bonuses and recognitions for one year, the news website reported

The singers skipped the show organized in Vientiane to celebrate the year of Vietnam-Laos friendship on July 18, reportedly for another show in the northern province of Ninh Binh.
