Cai luong artist Diep Tuyet Anh passed away from cancer, not having time to celebrate Tet, making one wish

Ms. Thanh, daughter of artist Diep Tuyet Anh, said that she passed away at 9:30 a.m. on January 24 (at the age of 74), on the way from Di An (Binh Duong) to Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Thanh said that the funeral of artist Diep Tuyet Anh was held at her home on Ngo Quyen Street (HCMC) - where the female artist used to live. Her coffin was then cremated at Binh Hung Hoa.

Previously, when talking about the health of artist Diep Tuyet Anh, her daughter said that she discovered a tumor in her liver that had metastasized. In this case, the doctor advised surgery to clear the gallbladder to avoid jaundice. "Now I live day by day, but I don't dare tell my mother. She hasn't eaten anything since this morning, only drank a sip of water," the artist's daughter shared.

Since being diagnosed with cancer, artist Diep Tuyet Anh has been brought to live with her daughter in a small, old rented house, rented for 900,000 VND for convenience in taking care of her. "I saw that my mother was too weak, so I called her to live with me so that I could take care of her more conveniently. Now my mother is very weak, she can only sit for a short while and breathe heavily, and she can't sleep at night," said the daughter of the once famous singer.

Regarding finances, Ms. Thanh said, "Let's see what happens. Now my aunts are pooling money together for my mother's surgery, but I'm also suffering..."

During a meeting with Phi Phung in May 2023, the female artist shared that she only had diabetes as an underlying disease. The Ngu Long Du Ky group praised her for being clear-headed and remembering the vọng cổ verses in the cải lương play Hoa Mulan Tùng Chiến.

On his personal page, artist Huu Chau (grandson of producer Tho) posted a clip of Ms. Diep Tuyet Anh singing an excerpt from Hoa Moc Lan with the message "She's gone... She's gone to Buddha. She suffered so much all her life, now she's at peace. I love her!".

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online, artist Huu Chau emotionally said that he remembered Ms. Diep Tuyet Anh playing the role of Thu Suong in the play Hoa Moc Lan, a supporting role with artist Thanh Nga in the play Giua noi bui hong. "When I was born, my grandmother founded the Da Minh Chau theater troupe, Ms. Diep Tuyet Anh played the lead role in the play Mua xuan sen trang bui" - Huu Chau said.

Artist Diep Tuyet Anh was a famous cai luong artist in the 1970s. She studied singing at the home of Mrs. Tho (mother of artist Thanh Nga), memorized every role, and learned the gestures of the famous female artist.

Recognizing the artist's talent, producer Tho established a new troupe, letting artist Diep Tuyet Anh play the lead role with Meritorious Artist Thanh Sang, singing famous plays of the Thanh Minh - Thanh Nga stage. In the cai luong video Giua lon bui hong filmed in the 1970s, she played with two powerful artists of that time, Huu Phuoc and Thanh Nga.

Artist Diep Tuyet Anh is the first wife of Meritorious Artist Thanh Sang. The two maintained a good relationship after their divorce. Artist Diep Tuyet Anh shared that she visited her ex-husband in the hospital when he was dying. She also appeared at Thanh Sang's funeral in 2017, recounting memories of touring and singing to send off her ex-husband.

Regarding her private life, because of her old age, she no longer sings. During the pandemic in 2021, she once lamented: "Since the Covid-19 outbreak, my mother died of the disease, my children are far away, I live alone in Ho Chi Minh City. In recent months, my diabetes has gotten worse, I have to be treated in the hospital but asked the doctor to let me go home. I don't make any money, I don't spend anything, I have health insurance for medical examination. Every day, neighbors and people love me and bring food to my house, my fellow artists also love me so they help me. I just had to borrow money from a friend to pay for my grandchild's tuition. I have to pay another installment soon, I don't know how to manage it. I just hope my health is better, I can go to work to pay off my debt and take care of my children and grandchildren.

Now I am sick and lying there, even walking with a cane. I just hope that one day my illness will be gone, and my family will be reunited, without needing to be rich or wealthy, that will be enough."
